The BBC have confirmed that Miranda Hart is in “early talks” with a view to a revival of the ‘slapstick game show’ The Generation Game. First aired in 1971, The Generation Game – hosted most famously by Bruce Forsyth – became a firm family TV favourite for many years,  featuring couples from four families who would compete in a variety of challenges which forced them to learn new skills, such as pot-making and morris dancing.

In fact, Miranda appeared as a contestant in a one-off revival of the show in 2011, hosted by Vernon Kay. During the course of that show, Miranda was forced to try her hand at something she has never done before – comedy!

The BBC also refused to confirm whether they were also in negotiations for the revival of an old show, but with a new twist: “Take Hart – For God’s Sake, Take Her!”
